How to use this guide
The web offers a ton of open-source information useful to cyberthreat intelligence investigations. New resources pop up daily to help harness this information and turn it into actionable intelligence — and yet more “roundups” appear to gather these resources into comprehensive lists.
Rather than provide an exhaustive list, this guide focuses on types of OSINT resources (with some examples) and provides context on what the resource is, its relevance to CTI and notes to improve usability. Use the menu below to jump to sections of interest.
It’s up to analysts to identify the right tools for their unique missions. We hope this list will introduce you to some new, free-to-use resources that will shorten your time-to-insight and prioritize where to focus.
